Success starts with self-love. To be your optimal best, make self-care a priority. It starts by making sure you are eating well, sleeping well, playing sports and fully expressing your emotions. From ‘Just Bee … Authentic’
A change in any of the above could be an indication of an imbalance. Whilst mostly people are in a season of celebrating, some of us are ‘not coping’. For those who are feeling lonely, hopeless, empty and depressed; we acknowledge you.
The typical signs of depression are:
- Always feeling sad and tearful
- Loss of interest or pleasure in many activities
- Apparent weight loss or gain
- Sleep disturbances (too much sleep: hypersomnia and too little sleep: insomnia)
- Being physically slower or more agitated (Always being late)
- Fatigue or loss of energy
- Feeling of worthlessness or excessive and inappropriate guilt
- Unable to think and concentrate
- Suicidal (recurrent thoughts of death)
The atypical signs of depression is when mood can brighten in reaction to events BUT,
- Depression is regularly worse in the morning
- Heavy feeling of arms and legs
- Interpersonal rejection sensitivity
It often takes a long time for people to figure out that they are unbalanced until it affects their level of functioning or reaches a point when other people notice.
It’s helpful when you as a family member, colleague or friend can be aware that there is “something different” about someone you care about.
